I think nothings harder in the ITU world than training all the way through october and november to do some late season races (well actually, of course there are things harder than that but let’s agree for the purpose of this post that it is hard…And here I talk more about emerging ITU athletes, not « well-established WCS athletes» It is hard for everybody but for the «emerging ones» I talk about, I think it is a bit harder because the factor school…) Usually, the end of August or mid-september mark the end for a lot off these athletes who take an off-season well deserved. The season has been long. Most of them started with some general work from october (one year before) through december, started serious things from january through may and raced from june to september. But some athletes are still looking at some races in oct-nov and it can be very hard to stay focus. There are some reasons to this : friends are getting their off-season and they seem to appreciate it a lot, school begins and is associated with a big depression and finally, the weather doesn’t cooperate at all. Anyway, all I want to say is : hats off to them !
We will follow these races next weekend. We have some canadians there. Next week we will have the official startlist :
October 9 : Huatulco World Cup
October 9 : Myrtle Beach Pan Am Cup
