It’s been a busy month at Athletes On Track for coaches and athletes alike. On the cycling side of things we have contested road, track, mtb, and time trial races, while the multisport-minded among us have done duathlons, triathlons, Xterras, and aquathons.
In April the focus will be on race-specific fitness for many as A-priority races, like Ironman Texas, Cross Worlds, and Mooseman 70.3 loom. We’ll also be talking about the heat; how to adapt clothing, hydration, and nutrition strategies. Lastly, we’re on a bit of a bike-fit kick at the moment, and will be tackling shoe fit before too long.
And then there are the constants: hard work, quality recovery, proper pacing – none of those are particularly sexy or exciting, but winning is, and the only secret is that there is no secret!
Does your plan and your training account for the time of year, and what issues and races you’ll be facing? If not, or if any of the above piques your interest, drop us a line. Coaching, training plans, and consultations are all available.
