Important > If you have the flu or a cold… or taking supplement

The following is a non-exhaustive list of Canadian brand name decongestants, allergy, cold and flu medications. The medications are sorted according to their status on the current version of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List, which is subject to change at any time. This list is not a recommendation nor an endorsement of these medications.

Last year a young canadian triathlete got a suspension for 6 months for Pseudoephedrine. You need to be aware that Pseudophedrine is back on the Prohibited List effective January 1, 2010, prohibited in-competition only. Pseudoephedrine is a stimulant commonly found in over-the-counter decongestants, allergy, cold and flu medications. Athletes are advised to consider the use of alternative permitted medications for the treatment of coughs, colds and upper respiratory infections, in consultation with a physician or See below.

Also, if you are taking supplement, be aware that it can contain methylhexaneamine, a prohibited stimulant. It’s really important that you don’t feel secure about a product because you can buy it in Canada. Even more in the US.
