Madrid was the host city to both ITU World Cup and and ITU Paratriathlon World Cup events over the weekend. The paratriathlon event was of a particular significance for French athletes as they were able to use several top-end athletes as a measuring stick for their progress.

Yannick Bourseaux faced off with his main competitor Martin Schulz of Germany. Schulz’ had a hefty lead after the swim and Bourseaux was never able to make up the lost ground. The Frenchman was able to secure a second place finish. France’s Maxime Maurel finished 4th.
In the women’s field, Gwladys Lemoussu emerged victorious from her battle with Hungarian Petra Lévay.

Stephane Bahier missed out on the podium when he came out on the losing end of a final sprint with Andrew Lewis. Geoffrew Wersy finished 6th.
In the women’s race, Elise Marc won her category with relative ease.

Arnaud Grandjean and Annouch Curzillat placed 3rd and 5th, respectively.

Amed Andaloussi placed 6th.
