RIO Test Event > A french selection without feminines

Yesterday were released the names of the athletes selected for the Rio Test Event which will stands in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil on the 2nd of August in anticipatin of the olympic games next summer.

The men’s team, composed with 4 athletes is not such a surprise (LuisHaussConinx and Le Corre) but on the other hand, the absence of feminines athletes poses a problem.

None of the french feminine athlete has been chosen and it asks the question of the ways engaged in. We come to ask why more chancesto get some experience on that course and for such a term are’t given to the girls. The federation stays yet faithful to its politics by only lining up athletes with the potential of being a finalist.

We could have seen Emmie Charayron (Sartrouville) and Audrey Merle (Parthenay) being selected. This choice would have been a reverberation to their recent selection at the European Championships in Geneva, on the 11th of July. The absence of Emmie Charayron is surprising all the more reason that she already performed several times on hilly courses as the Rio one.

Compared to this, an other national federation who has proved itself, the GBtri federation will use all of its numbers and even send India Lee who is an unexperienced athlete on the world series, qualified for an European Cup.

The question of the future of its choice is finally asked. by sending just a masculine selection would the FFtri be ready to bet everything on boys, putting girls chances aside ? This looks like a risky choice, and in its logic, could it be ready not to send none of the girls to the Olympics ? Stay tuned…
